“But calm, white calm, was born into a swan”

A lone mute swan sits motionless on the still surface of the water, with a wall of brown reeds as a backdrop.

    • Thanks LB. This is another of the few survivors from my first year (2008) with a camera. Being so new, every time I look at the photos I took on this particular day, I’m pretty proud of myself for not blowing the exposure on the bird.

  1. Last year we were in Cape May, New Jersey for Thanksgiving and saw a number of swans in the bird sanctuary there. What amused us was how big swan are to tip their bottoms up in the air the way ducks do when diving for food! And yes, they can be quite nasty and aggressive when not looking serene and beautiful. 🙂 Have a blessed Christmas, Jeff.
