Weekly Photo Challenge: Horizon

“Never have I found the limits of the photographic potential.

Every horizon, upon being reached, reveals another beckoning in the distance.

Always, I am on the threshold.”

    • Thanks again Dorothy.

I must say that right up until the color started to appear in the sky, and it really never got any better than this, I thought for sure this was going to be yet another in a long line of failed gambles with coastal sunrises and the weather.

  1. Colline is right πŸ™‚ Your capture is mystical πŸ™‚ I love the contrast between the rugged rocks and the creamy softness of the water, not to mention the colours on the horizon – Just the right amount of pink ;). Was it a sunrise?

    • Thanks Lisa. I actually gamble a lot with the weather when it comes to coastal sunrises. If there is a storm front heading out to sea and there is even a remote chance that the sun will get to the horizon and really light up the undersides of the clouds, before the clouds reach the horizon and totally block out the sun I’ll chance it. Of course I’m less than an hour from the New Hampshire seacoast, so other than sleep loss it’s not a big deal. Anything for a good dramatic sunset. if on the other hand it’s going to be a crystal clear, cloudless morning, I won’t even bother. I’ll find something else to shoot.

    • Thank Cardinal. Yes as a matter of fact I do. For WordPress, 500px, Flickr, etc. I size them at 1,000px on the long edge @ 72ppi. I’ve set up an export preset in Lightroom so with just 2 clicks of the mouse I have a web ready image.

      Hope that helps.
