Weekly Photo Challenge: Close

Or as I like to call my morning in the woods getting these images,

Muddy, Bloody, and Wet!

Because I got a little, gave a little, and got some of the last too! I really need to start watching where I’m going!

This is also a first for me I think. This is the first time I’ve gone out to make the photos specifically for the weekly challenge. I’m going to have to do it more often. Hopefully with less blood loss.

So, without further delay…

Close.

And something for the “Bug People” out there, you know who you are 😀

    1. Fair Maiden I think thee, your gracious compliment shows you are of the highest character. 😀

So, will I see you atop Mt. Washington this coming Sunday? Road opens at 3:30 😉

      1. I wish, stuck in the Big Apple for a bit. I am, however, figuring out how to get up your way sometime this summer. I may be in Boston in early August, is there a train that runs somewhere close? 🙂

        1. Amtrak runs right into downtown Dover, about 1/2 hour south of me. Let me know when/if you’re coming. As long as I have some warning, or more importantly, can give my wife plenty of warning, I can plan a day of camera fun. 😀

  1. Knockouts and love the greens and the full frames. Hope you didn’t hurt yourself too badly. I have also found myself looking through the camera eye too much and not the other, usually more important, ones. I set my tripod up once about 10 feet from an alligator of note worthy size laying in the mud and never noticed.

    1. Oh I’m fine, nothing but minor scrapes. What is really surprising is that I can be so preoccupied that I don’t even feel my run-in with the sharp stick, rock, etc. It’s often not until I happen to look down and see blood running down my leg that I realize I got me a little boo-boo:-D

And I thought my run in with the bears was close! Would love me an alligator shot though;-)

  2. Hey Jeff, im sitting in a laundromat in Washington and I figures I’d take the time to swing by your site to see what you’ve been up to. Gotta say, the first image in this series has to be one of my top favorites of your photographs that I’ve seen. Love the focus of the composition and the vibrant green on black. Very well taken!

Sorry to hear the sunrise on Mt. Washington was less than hoped for. Hope its better next time!

I’m dying to get home to my computer to get a photo of sunset light reflecting off Mt. Hood that I was able to take from 9,000ft on Mt. Adams. I hope it comes out as good as I hope!

Talk to ya later and keep up the good work!

    Nate
