Nature Through The Lens

Sunday’s Hidden Treasure.

In the ongoing effort to unearth forgotten gems hidden in my catalog of images, here is another Sunday’s Hidden Treasure.

Animal tracks lead up a gently sloping snow covered hill, disappearing over the crest. The top of the hill is lined by leafless trees, and beyond the trees an ominous sky.

Lens: Canon EF 17-40 f4 L

  1. Purple snow. Nice. Was that on purpose? ;)

    • Purple? Sounds like someone need to calibrate their monitor ;-)

      • A light purple, anyway. I don’t know about calibrating monitors, but if I needed to calibrate my monitor, wouldn’t my flesh tones be off? Or maybe my eyes are off? :)

        • Admittedly there is a slight bluish tint to the snow, but purple, I don’t really see it. Could just be my eyes though :-D

          • Or mine. I think mine are older than yours. :)

  2. :) whose footprints are these? ;)

    February 4, 2013 at 12:28 pm

    • I believe they were from a fox, or possibly a coyote. They were definitely canine, so heck they could have been a dog’s foot prints.

  3. For a moment I thought they were your foot prints, Jeff .

    • Ha-ha! No, not mine, since I was wearing snowshoes mine would have been much bigger :-D

      • What do I know about snow? Practically nada, too cold for me. ☺

        February 5, 2013 at 10:57 am

        • You can stay nice and warm and admire the snow in my photos then. :-)

          February 5, 2013 at 7:37 pm

          • I have always lived in warm places and never really had an opportunity to experience it for longer than 3 days and that was the extent of the cold I could take. Yes, I do better watching the snow from a photograph.

            • I’ll try to accomodate you with some more snow filled images you can enjoy from the comforts of your nice warm home.

              • That would be so nice and I will appreciate seeing it and not feeling it. Did you accept that Pinterest invitation I sent you? You never know who is watching.

                • Yes I did, thank you. I’ve been so crazy busy at my “real” job I haven’t had time to post anything though. :-(
