Through The Lens, My Favorite 12 From 2012.

(For this weeks Weekly Photo Challenge theme: Surprise. The “surprise?” I can’t count, my favorite 12 of 2012 is actually 20! Enjoy!)

What a wonderful selection of photos. Do you do any color correction? I am a newbie and am still at the rapidly rise portion of the learning curve.
December 22, 2012 at 8:23 pm
Thanks Keenan. In virtually all of my photographs the colors have been “worked on.” I firmly believe in “getting it right in camera” when it comes to exposure and composition. “Fix it in Photoshop” is not im my vocabulary. However, with all but my wildlife images, I strive for an artistic representation of the scene before me, and to that end I love and use the full suite of Nik Creative Plugins.
I usually, but not always, have an idea of how I want the final image to look at the time of capture. For any of my images to be successful I want to give the viewer a “WOW” experience when they are viewing one of my photographs. Not have them thinking “that doesn’t even look real.”
I hope that answers your question. If you have any more, feel free to ask.

Beautiful! Hard to pick a favorite.
December 22, 2012 at 8:37 pm
Thank you, and I’m glad you’re having a tough time choosing. I know I sure did. I gave up trying to limit it to 12, stopping at 20 wasn’t that much easier.
December 23, 2012 at 10:38 am
See? You can’t even decide which are your 12 favorite? Excellent photos Jeff.
December 23, 2012 at 1:38 am
And I could have kept going far past 20 too!
December 23, 2012 at 10:39 am
Keep going Jeff.
December 23, 2012 at 11:49 am

All of these images are beautiful, Jeff, but the small frog takes first prize, at least in my eyes

All 20 are amazing! and I think I might do a top 12 of 12 or whatever in my own blog. So glad I found your blog (via comment on dailypost)! Nice shots
December 24, 2012 at 1:33 am
Thank you very much! I should like to see it when you do. I also hope you have better luck narrowing it down to 12 than I did

Fabulous as usual Jeff. Hard to choose a favorite, but I especially loved Foss Mountain, Hunter, Acadia Sunset, and Color in the Waves.

Thanks Jude. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that can’t pick just one favorite.

I don’t remember seeing this pic of Hunter and “Tenacity” before. Your idea was excellent! In your place I would place the link on the WPC page…. Yours was a beautiful, beautiful year!!!
December 29, 2012 at 7:04 pm
“Tenacity” was shared for the first time in this post, and except for my facebook page, this is the first appearance (I think) that Hunter has made on my blog. Boy do we love that boy!
December 29, 2012 at 10:53 pm
Does he look that good in person too?
December 30, 2012 at 5:27 am
Oh yes he does, he is a very good looking boy. And about as lovable as you will find anywhere

Seriously…

January 2, 2013 at 8:31 pm
Spectacular all Jeff! Can imagine how long it must have taken you to shortlist these. The snowy owl in the dunes is my favourite
January 17, 2013 at 1:46 pm
Thank you Madhu. You have no idea how hard it was. Next year I might make it easier on myself and go with 30 or so
