Weekly Photo Challenge: Geometry
Geometry.
Angle, Line, Architecture.
My first thoughts for this weeks theme, buildings, bridges, and other man-made structures. Not the usual focus of my photography, but from time to time I will include the man-made.
Enjoy this gallery of my take on geometry.

Thank you! It was nice to have downtown Portsmouth pretty much all to myself. Of course, I had to get up pretty darn early to do it.

This is inspiring, even more than I had expected… You have surprised me Jeff.

These, as your other photos, are truly beautiful. Now watch your steps: I’m following you

Thank you yet again Marion. I hope I continue to create photographs that keep you wanting to stop by.
And lastly,
Ooooh, I’m so scared

Super photos Jeff!!! I think your take on geometry was accomplished quite nicely. I really like your header photo also!
November 3, 2012 at 11:22 am
Thank you very much! Which header is it you so much? They appear randomly, so I would like to know which one caught your eye.

The photo that showed up when I viewed this post was the cliffs with the trees at the base showing their fall colors. You have some really great shots used for your header. I also like the stone bridge ….Acadia?
November 4, 2012 at 1:09 pm
Ah yes, taken along the Kancamagus Highway in the White Mountains in NH. And yes, the bridge is in Acadia. I saw several while I was there over 4th of July week, but as soon as I saw this one I had to go back and photograph it.

I like the repetition of houses in the snow, very orderly and calming.
November 3, 2012 at 12:03 pm
Thank you Valentina, I hadn’t thought about it much, but it is rather calming isn’t it.
November 3, 2012 at 2:12 pm
The lights and colors are beautiful too!

Ah ha! I see you have barns! I did a blog post with my Deep South photos at

Your photos are lovely.

Thank you very much. I’m strangely drawn to the barn in this post. I’ve been there to photograph it at least half a dozen times. I’m not sure what it is about it since there are plenty of old, run down barns here in New Hampshire, and this one in particular is about 2 1/2 hours away. But every time I head north without a specific shooting goal I seem to find myself at this barn.
November 3, 2012 at 7:06 pm
There’s a barn about this run down near my house that still contains a horse. That’s where I shot the dog picture.
November 3, 2012 at 7:34 pm
Too bad for the horse.

Great shots Jeff.

Excellent interpretation, Jeff. The lines and angles really engage the eye through all of these. Great range of tones throughout these as they make an excellent set.
