Weekly Photo Challenge: Close
Or as I like to call my morning in the woods getting these images,
Muddy, Bloody, and Wet!
Because I got a little, gave a little, and got some of the last too! I really need to start watching where I’m going!
This is also a first for me I think. This is the first time I’ve gone out to make the photos specifically for the weekly challenge. I’m going to have to do it more often. Hopefully with less blood loss.
So, without further delay…
Close.
And something for the “Bug People” out there, you know who you are

Nice shots!

These are fantastic shots… I hope you are alright… Were there lions lurking behind the fir?
June 16, 2012 at 12:20 pm
And tigers and bears, oh my
All part of getting the shot. One of these days I’ll learn to watch where I’m going and

Hey Jeff…
These are compositions right up my alley (-: Nice effort, producing a first, and good captures.

Thanks Rick.

Love that shot across the fern Jeff. Great angle. No blood in the pics though!
June 16, 2012 at 2:26 pm
Nope, left all the blood on the sticks and thorns that found me while I wandered the woods. The mosquitoes took their fair share as well.
June 16, 2012 at 5:19 pm
Love the first one across the ferns too. Beautiful!
June 16, 2012 at 2:42 pm
Thank you Madhu.
June 16, 2012 at 5:20 pm
This was worth shedding blood
. Perfect macros….. but who am I to judge
June 16, 2012 at 3:24 pm

June 16, 2012 at 5:21 pm
P.S. … and I starred them too
June 16, 2012 at 3:25 pm
See I told you, adoring fan
June 16, 2012 at 5:21 pm
Hmmm, do I have an adoring fan in you as well?

Thank you ever so much!

Gorgeous, as usual, SJTR. That top one is ace – I love the focus on the centre, so unusual and really effective.
June 18, 2012 at 1:56 pm
Fair Maiden I think thee, your gracious compliment shows you are of the highest character.
So, will I see you atop Mt. Washington this coming Sunday? Road opens at 3:30
June 18, 2012 at 7:29 pm
I wish, stuck in the Big Apple for a bit. I am, however, figuring out how to get up your way sometime this summer. I may be in Boston in early August, is there a train that runs somewhere close?
June 18, 2012 at 7:31 pm
Amtrak runs right into downtown Dover, about 1/2 hour south of me. Let me know when/if you’re coming. As long as I have some warning, or more importantly, can give my wife plenty of warning, I can plan a day of camera fun.
June 18, 2012 at 7:37 pm
Excellent, will give you advance warning of any impending arrival – so you can run and hide
June 18, 2012 at 8:17 pm
I’m sorry, do I know you?
June 18, 2012 at 8:21 pm
Haha, that caught me unawares, nearly spilled my coffee
June 18, 2012 at 8:22 pm
Knockouts and love the greens and the full frames. Hope you didn’t hurt yourself too badly. I have also found myself looking through the camera eye too much and not the other, usually more important, ones. I set my tripod up once about 10 feet from an alligator of note worthy size laying in the mud and never noticed.
June 19, 2012 at 12:20 am
Oh I’m fine, nothing but minor scrapes. What is really surprising is that I can be so preoccupied that I don’t even feel my run-in with the sharp stick, rock, etc. It’s often not until I happen to look down and see blood running down my leg that I realize I got me a little boo-boo:-D
And I thought my run in with the bears was close! Would love me an alligator shot though;-)
June 19, 2012 at 5:41 am
Very amazing. I post the same interpretation about leaves but not as great as you. Wow, stunning pictures you have here
June 20, 2012 at 4:14 am
Thank you Albadr, I just took a look at your leaves close-ups, and they are very good. The first three in particular, are very well done.
June 20, 2012 at 5:35 am

June 20, 2012 at 6:36 am

Amazing images – the spider is so delicate!
June 22, 2012 at 12:06 am
Thank you, considering how small the spider was, I’m surprised I saw it. But glad I did
June 22, 2012 at 5:15 am
This is fantastic Jeff… great work
June 22, 2012 at 12:18 pm
I’ve seen your work, that’s high praise coming from you! Thanks.
June 22, 2012 at 3:16 pm
I’m overrated, don’t believe the hype
Very nice of you to say though, so thank you
June 22, 2012 at 3:31 pm
Yea, I’m my own worst critic too
It’s hard to step back and say, “Damn, I really am good,” isn’t it?
June 22, 2012 at 3:41 pm
I can say I’ve gotten better… not sure about being good though. So yes I agree
June 22, 2012 at 3:52 pm
Your good, so just sit back a bask in the adulation of your fans
June 22, 2012 at 4:07 pm
Hey Jeff, im sitting in a laundromat in Washington and I figures I’d take the time to swing by your site to see what you’ve been up to. Gotta say, the first image in this series has to be one of my top favorites of your photographs that I’ve seen. Love the focus of the composition and the vibrant green on black. Very well taken!
Sorry to hear the sunrise on Mt. Washington was less than hoped for. Hope its better next time!
I’m dying to get home to my computer to get a photo of sunset light reflecting off Mt. Hood that I was able to take from 9,000ft on Mt. Adams. I hope it comes out as good as I hope!
Talk to ya later and keep up the good work!
Nate
June 25, 2012 at 6:35 pm
